What we do
Quota's mission is to provide service to our community, specifically to the hearing and speech impaired, and disadvantaged women and children, and to provide a network for leadership and fellowship for members.

Quota International of Seattle was chartered in 1935. Monthly dinner meetings are spent planning service and fundraising activities. Over the past several years, our fundraisers have included: the Oktoberfest Dinner and Auction, the Valentine's Day Dinner, Dance, and Auction, and the Timberline Hot Dog and Garage Sale.

Quota International of Seattle is one of 10 clubs in the 14th District which includes the Pacific Northwest as well as Alaska and Hawaii. This is part of the West Area that stretches from Alaska to New Mexico; and of the larger all encompassing organization Quota International, Inc.

We have devoted our time to many local and international organizations, including:

Angeline Center is a day shelter for homeless women. They provide warm meals, support by trained counselors, and on-site medical attention. QI of Seattle provides daily necessities for hygiene, meals, clothing and supplies to run the daily operation of the center.

First Place provides a model school and therapeutic center for low income and homeless children and their families that fosters hope, promotes stability and provides resources for self-sufficiency. QI of Seattle has supported Adopt-a-Family for five years, providing famililies with holiday gifts and essential household products.

Listen and Talk uses an auditory-oral approach to teach children with all degrees of hearing loss to listen and speak. QI of Seattle funds programs for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, enabling them to speak for themselves in a hearing world.

Mary's Place is a welcoming and safe environment where women and children can build community, enrich their days and find resources to rebuild their lives. Resources are offered for vocational, housing and financial needs. Groups, classes and on-site services address issues of physical, spiritual and emotional health. Nurses and a naturopathic medical clinic are available. QI of Seattle cooks and serves a Saturday lunch to the women each quarter.

Summit Assistance Dogs is dedicated to providing highly skilled assistance dogs to people with disabilities or institutions that can benefit from their use. QI of Seattle donated the money needed to purchased a dog for this program.

Wanda Fry Joiner founded Quota International in 1918. This foundation promotes service in our communities and provides funding for special projects. QI of Seattle regularly donates to these special projects.

We Share Foundation encompasses Club-to-Club world service. This includes research grants, fellowship partners, and youth outreach. QI of Seattle regularly donates to their service projects.
